Living in Zushii Square, Avel's parents never were on the up end of the Prodx society even though they were highly intelligent; and when he was born they quickly found that their financial troubles became much worse.  Regardless, they raised Avel the best they could, trying to instill in him a sense of honor and justice while giving him a good education.  They only partially succeeded.

From the young age of six, he has been picking pockets or breaking in to poorly secured homes, both for the financial benefit and for the entertainment it provided.  As he grew older and more experienced, his robberies became more complicated and dangerous.  He taught himself how to pick locks, fool and disarm alarm systems as well as automated weaponry.  He also taught himself how to fool other people into making him out as the good guy in almost any given situation, even though his mother is a mage who is capable of reading minds.

Avel knows that thievery is wrong and does intend to give it up, but in order to do so, he requires a formal education; and as such, he has decided to attend Intanaire of his own accord.

Avel is 5' 10'', weighs in at 185 lbs, and has somewhat pale skin, messy dark brown hair, and dark brown eyes.  His wardrobe is not impressive, as it is composed of blank T-shirts, cheap jeans, and old hooded coats.

He is generally amicable, even if he comes off as a bit acerbic.
